Dennis Lin’s practice explores memory, belonging, and material through sculpture. Working with salvaged and transformed materials, he is drawn to objects that bear the marks of use, history, and change. Through processes of preservation and reconstruction, these materials become vessels for memory, carrying traces of lived experience.

His work unfolds through slow, repetitive processes of cutting, shaping, casting, assembling, and preserving. These acts of making become a form of meditation, reflecting on transformation, impermanence, and care.

Underlying this material practice is an ongoing reflection on Taiwanese identity, diaspora, and the fragility of cultural heritage. Lin is interested in how objects preserve traces of people, places, and traditions that might otherwise disappear. His sculptures consider how memory is carried across generations, and how material can become a repository for personal and cultural histories.
